SPEAKERS
Let's Get this Party Started: Welcome to the Triangle!
Opening Remarks
Welcome to our first in-person BLD Southeast, and welcome to NC State University
(B)eing Intentional: Working with and buying from other B’s
Join this hybrid workshop and panel that will inspire attendees to be intentional with their wallets. As individuals and businesses, we have the opportunity to turn our growing B Corp community into a circular economy.
(B) Investing: From startup to exit
From the early stages of getting your startup bankable to raising your first round of investment to an exit that preserves your personal mission and your company’s values, this panel will cover everything impact investing.
Diversity in Action - Embracing the hard work
We’ve made a lot of progress as a community in the past three years, but that will not undo the systemic barriers and challenges that were developed over hundreds of years. Join this main stage panel as they discuss what’s next in impactful systemic change and what we can do to write the equitable future we want to see in five years, ten years, twenty years, and beyond.
(B) Networking
Join us before lunch to learn about the multitude of B Corp groups in our community–and then go meet them! This interactive session will allow you bounce between groups, build business relationships (and friendships) with other like-minded attendees, and find your new networking staples.
Action & Change Start Locally
Being the change you want to see in the world isn’t hard and it doesn’t need to be overwhelming. Join this hybrid workshop and panel as they help you find inspiration to do the simple things where you live. Whether it’s activating your employees or becoming an agent of change yourself, this session will have it for you.
Social Impact Burnout: Avoiding, coping & recovering
Social impact work is hard. Climate change, racial justice, wealth inequality. There are so many glaring problems to solve, overwhelming problems, problems that need every ounce of effort we can give them. But that mentality can lead us to crash and burn, leaving us unable to do any of the work. This very vulnerable panel will discuss their passions, their stories, their long days and longer nights, and how they dealt with it–or didn’t–and how they found a healthy balance to be a more effective agent of change.
Building the B Corp Movement
Join this main stage panel featuring some of the region's B Corp trailblazers and thought leaders as we discuss the challenges and opportunities to build the B Corp movement in the southeast. How do we talk about our work without shutting down the conversation? How do we make the business case for good business? How do we meet people where they are and win them over? How do we balance our principles and values with our need to thread the needle? We'll unpack all of this and more in one of the day's most powerful sessions.
Fireside Chat with Jorge Fontanez & Kate Williams
B1, y’all! We’re beyond honored to host Kate Williams, CEO of 1% For The Planet, and Jorge Fontanez, CEO of B Lab US and Canada, for a fireside chat. They’ll be discussing our collective synergies, the growth of the B1 movement, and the challenges & opportunities we face as we continue to tackle the most pressing issues of our time.

Closing Remarks & Thank You
